“Don’t threaten me with love, baby. Let’s just go walking in the rain. – Billie Holiday”
It’s a starting of new year where everyone is busy in making and breaking their resolutions and I’m all set with my backpack ready to take my first weekend trip of the year to Nainital- The Lake City of India. Ideally summer was considered as the best time to visit Nainital but just imagine the moment where its a 1’degree temperature with rain. And the best part of this day is no use of cameras or mobiles due to rain, so we’ve to use our 5 senses to appreciate the beauty of the day.
I’ve been to Nainital serval times but this time its different, magical & awesome. We reached to Nainital late in night as we were coming from Jim Corbett, so just take a room drop our luggage and went for dinner on mall road at Zooby’s Kitchen and hot coffee at lake side stall. After the awesome dinner and tried day its time for a bed. Soon the next day I got up in the morning I jumped from my bed hearing the sound of rain and just quickly open my room balcony and just lost in that moment.

Despite enjoying the rain in monsoon season. I love to walk in rain during winters to feel the cold wave on my face. It feels like weather has something say in your ears. Just walk slow and listen to every sound of wind its not less than any instrumental musical sound.

Have you ever visualized the day with three different seasons. I know you must be thinking that I’m kidding but trust me that single day I’ve enjoyed three different seasons – Winter, Monsoon & Autumn. Mountains always surprise me with its beauty and this time its just a perfect day with 3 seasons. We always dream of having a perfect day in our life but when it comes we just forget to enjoyed it. Thankfully I didn’t missed that chance.

We walk to entire mall road in rain, thankful to our jackets and caps we didn’t required any umbrellas. We take a short pause at the local & one of the cheapest market behind Naina Devi Mandir to have some hot pakora’s and my favorite hot chocolate. It’s fun seeing people, some struggling with umbrellas while walking on street in rain and some are just enjoying the rain by getting wet. Everyone have their own style of enjoying the life.

Though we’ve only a day to spend in Nainital so we decided not to run for every spot just to cover the list of must visit places rather just enjoy the full day at mall road only by cycling, walking, shopping and street food.
There is a famous dialogue from the Bollywood movie – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
“Jitna Bhi Try Karo, Life Mein Kuch Na Kuch Toh Chhotega Hi….
Toh Jahan Hain, Wahin Ka Mazaa Lete Hain Na….”
